Should HR encourage exercise at work?
The link between our mental strength and physical strength is irrefutable, consistent exercise helps to achieve a healthy body and healthy mind. When staff are mentally strong, they are entirely more likely to be engaged and perform at their best. HR should encourage exercise as it’s not only about being fit and healthy but it helps improve the mood of the office and the cognitive ability of staff. The key benefits of wellbeing programs are: exercise is energising and helps people to choose a better attitude, regular exercise has been proven to reduce stress and ward off anxiety and depression, exercise improves cognitive function and investing in health and well-being lifts engagement.
