What to do if your boss is a bully
Navigating a relationship with a boss who you suspect may be a bully is difficult at the best of times. It can lead to psychological and physical stress. It's important to first decipher if you are really being bullied before accusing someone of bullying. Bullying is repeated, targeted behaviour that has the impact of leaving somoene feeling intimidated, embarrassed and humiliated. It's important to have tough and honest conversations and how you are feeling, and never ignore the fact you are being bullied or it could be bottled up and explode later down the track. The best approach is to talk to your bully, but it can be dangerous and not everyone feels comfortable enough to do so. For those who aren't confident enough to bring it up with her bully, they should talk to a mentor or HR about how to handle their conflict.
